After every session, members are expected to wipe and clean all equipment thoroughly.
For sauna timber benches, use the spray bottle labelled “sauna wood only” and wipe over the entire bench with the natural disinfectant provided and paper towels.
For the sauna glass, use a paper towel and spray bottle labelled “glass only”, paying close attention to any sweat marks or sweat around the door handles & handles themselves.
Please place your paper towels and cleaning wipes in the designated bins throughout the facility and return the spray bottles to their holder.
Should you ever notice an issue with the cleanliness of our facility or any of our equipment, please scan the ‘contact us’ QR codes located throughout the facility & provided us as much information as possible including pictures where relevant. Cleanliness is our number 1 priority.
Contrast Therapy combines the benefits of hot and cold exposure, using our traditional sauna for heat and our ice baths for cold. We recommend following the Hot,(Rinse), Cold, Rest & Repeat method during your session.
Begin with heat exposure in our traditional sauna, which ranges from 80 to 100 degrees Celsius. When entering the traditional sauna, please avoid blocking the doorway and be mindful of other members. There’s no need to rush when opening and closing the door, as our ventilation system retains the heat effectively.
You can choose your seat based on your heat preference – the upper benches are hotter, while the lower ones are cooler.
While inside, please maintain a calm and respectful voice to ensure a peaceful experience for everyone. It’s really important to never pour any oils on the hot rocks or use oils in the sauna, as this can be a serious fire risk. If at any point you would like to increase the humidity of your sauna, slowly sprinkle a scoop of water across the rocks. Should you need to refill the bucket, please use the shower or tap provided in your room as needed.
After spending up to 10 minutes in the sauna, take a quick shower before entering the ice baths, then choose an ice bath and slowly submerge yourself. Take your time entering the water to avoid spilling. Our ice baths are kept at a temperature of 3, 6 and 9 degrees Celsius.
It’s important to know your limits – if you feel uncomfortable or the water is too cold, don’t stay in for too long and never exceed 5 minutes.
After the cold exposure, you can choose to rest for a few minutes to allow your body to recover before repeating the process, or head straight back in to the sauna and repeat the process.
You can continue alternating between hot and cold as your body allows. If at any point you feel dizzy or unwell, please take a break to hydrate.
